In 2013 Australian New York City resident Yael Stone was the inmate playing 'Lorna Morello' as part of Orange Is the New Black. Yael completed her studies at NIDA. From a young age, Yael has been lucky to have worked with some of some of Australia's top storytellers, stars of performance and visionaries working behind the scenes of film TV, theatre, and film. Yael is well-known as an actor across Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael discovered her new place of residence within New York City when the production played to critical acclaim in The Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM). Yael is the co-founder of The Cannery. From an Bushwick, Brooklyn studio, The Cannery is a place to promote new writing, innovative creative initiatives, and encourages the growth of writers in their teens.
